Summer Hours, Online Ordering, New Employees!

We have a spring resolution: to keep this blog updated more often! Sometimes it’s just crazy with our schedules and we forget about the little things like updating the website– but no longer, as we want to post here at least once a week.

Summer hours are upon us! We are now open 7 days a week:

Monday- 11:30-9
Tuesday- 11:30-9
Wednesday 11:30-9
Thursday 11:30-9
Friday 11:30-10
Saturday 11:30-10
Sunday 11:30-8

Online ordering is here and it’s extremely convenient! It’s been nice to see a lot of our customers taking advantage of our customer loyalty program through our iphone app; if you haven’t downloaded it yet, you can do so here: Comida Iphone App.

We have two new employees: Shawn and Ingrid. Shawn has many years of burrito-rolling experience, having previously worked as a manager at Chipotle and also at Boloco. Shawn also is a talented musician and plays a lot of local gigs! Ingrid went to Salem High School and is a natural in the kitchen, as her father is an executive chef at a nearby restaurant in Salem. We’re lucky to have them on board!

Holy Guacamole and Heat Night!

Our new part-time employee, Kate, started yesterday and jumped right into making fresh pico de gallo and guacamole. We’re happy to have Kate on-board at Comida — she’s a hard worker, has a positive attitude and is very comfortable with the customers.

We’re excited about two upcoming events at Comida, “Holy Guacamole” Saturday, March 5 at 10 a.m.; and “Heat Night” on Sunday, March 20 from 6 to 8 p.m. We’ll show you how to make our delicious guac at “Holy Guacamole” and you’ll leave with a 1/2-pound of the avocado spread. At Heat Night, folks who love hot sauce can gather at Comida to sample chips, our habanero salsas and try some special hot sauces we’re bringing in for the night. Thanks to the folks at North Shore Medical Center and Shirts Illustrated, who have recently taken advantage of our new delivery service! We’ll bring food to your home or office from noon to 2 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday-Sunday (Salem/Beverly/Marblehead). And, if you ask nicely, the driver might just arrive dressed like a taco!

At Comida we also now sell molcajetes– the traditional Mexican version of the mortar and pestle tool– which can be used to make guacamole. We’ll demonstrate how to use them at Holy Guacamole, March 5!

Our first post!

Hello all!

Welcome to Comida Mexican Taqueria’s first blog post! We are very excited to start up this new facet for our webpage, and believe that it will be a great way of keeping you all informed about the happenings at Comida! It has been a fantastic first few months for Comida, and we’re really excited about future happenings. Lots of new things to report this week!

- Delivery! We started delivering to Salem, Marblehead and Beverly this week during lunchtime (12-2) and dinner hours (6-8). We hope to have full-time delivery options in the not-too-distant future!

- Taco Tuesdays (all tacos are only $2.50) and Torta Thursdays (all tortas only $6) have been very popular, but don’t forget about Facebook Fridays! On the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month, if you have “liked” us on facebook, you get 10% off your order. - Comida is getting an iphone app! And a droid/blackberry and other smartphone apps! What this will do is to allow you to see our daily specials and our menu and then order through the app. You’ll easily be able to specify your order to your liking, then put in your payment info and walk into Comida, where your order will be waiting for you! It will save you of any time spent waiting in line or cashing out.
